  I bought an item on Tuesday 13th Jan for a birthday present, unfortunately in the wrong size. Unable to find the receipt we returned to the shop today to be told that it could not be exchanged without a receipt as this was needed for proof of purchase. I was put out by this as I have heard of colleagues and friends where this has happened and they have had no trouble returning items either for a different size or if this was not possible exchanging for a different item, at other shops. I was mostly upset however by the rudeness of the assistant who did not seem remotely interested in what we had to say, she was so dismissive and hardly looked up from what she was doing at the counter as we placed the carrier bag with the returned garment in, and the smaller sized one we hoped to exchange. We often buy from Mountain Warehouse throughout the course of each year but after our experience today we will not be returning!
